DRONE Attacks Hit An Oil Terminal In Crimea On October 6 And October 13, Causing Major Damage And Large Fires Visible From A Long Distance.
During The October 13 Attack, One Of The Drone Strikes Set Several Fuel Tanks On Fire, Destroying Much Of The Facility. Out Of 43 Tanks, Only Seven Remain Undamaged.
According To Reports, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces Also Carried Out Successful Drone Strikes On Oil Depots In Hvardiyske And Karyerne, Targeting Facilities Linked To Russia’s State Fuel Reserves. Sources Say FP-2 Attack Drones Were Used In The Operation.
The October 6 Attack Had Already Caused Severe Damage, And It Took Several Days To Contain The Fire.
The Destroyed Terminal Could Store Up To 250,000 Cubic Meters Of Oil, Making It One Of Only Two Major Facilities On The Crimean Peninsula — The Other Being In Sevastopol, Which Is Also Under Russian Occupation.
The Hvardiyske Oil Depot Belongs To Kedr LLC, The Company Behind ATAN, The Largest Gas Station Chain In Occupied Crimea. The Loss Of This Facility Could Worsen Fuel Shortages Across The Region.
